In metalwork we did embossing, etching, piercing out, annealing and 3d
pieces.
I started with embossing which meant I had to anneal (heat up) the copper so
it would be more bendy for me to roll through with a texture to make it emboss.
I then used stop out to draw on a design so that when I placed it in the
acid the stop out would prevent it from affecting the design, I then cleaned it
with wire wool so it was shiny.
On the third piece of metal I covered it in stop out and scraped off the
design so it would have the opposite effect to the brass metal, unfortunately
it didn’t turn out so well.
On the fourth piece of metal I cut pieces of
duct tape on it and placed it in the acid and I also cleaned it with wire wool
afterwards.
i enjoyed using the rollers and the torch, the acid after a while would give me a headache so i didnt enjoy using that i enjoyed using the devise that created a dome because when they came out they reminded me of bolts.
