I chose this because I thought it would be a good challenge
for me and it is, in order to design this room to the best of my ability I did
research into the autistic spectrum and I have realised it is difficult to create
this room with each individual child in mind due to the fact that different
people have different triggers that can easily set them off like a sound or a
sight, not only do I have to consider this I have to take into account the
different levels of autism I will be designing for some of the children may
have difficulty communicating in order to fully understand what I’m going to be
catering for I believe I need to talk to either the teachers or the parent as
well as for the library wall I think I will need some input for that as well.
For this project we also visited Osborne technologies
to see what their sensory room had to offer and while discussing our project we
were asked our budget and we were told it would be very difficult to have a
similar setup for our sensory room.
