Vintage project evaluation
The era I chose to
study was the 1940s, when I first decided to research the 1940s I wanted to
look into world war two and other aspects of it. Although I have looked into
several other things like fashion, food, cartoons, other artists, several
celebrities, transport, hairstyles, songs and jewellery. I have chosen to focus
on fashion for the remainder of my pages.
at that time there
was a war taking place in the 1940s so there wasn’t much going on at the time certain
things had to be sacrificed and if you wanted to buy anything you needed to
really save up for it or collect enough coupons to buy it, the 40s were a time
of rationing. The artists that were around in the 40s that I chose were Matisse,
Picasso, Wassily Kandinski and Salvadore Dali, I chose these artists because I found
their work interesting their style is mainly expressive and they used loose
strokes when painting and almost all use oil paint. The media I have used is
mainly pen, pencil, coloured pencil, watercolour and paint, I used this media
because they are what I consider to be the media I work best with and I wanted to
make it look as best as it could although I wish I could’ve found way to put different media in as well.
My annotations aren’t
very creatively displayed but I think I put everything I could think of in them
it would’ve been better if they were presented more creatively but I am happy
with what I have produced. I don’t think I have handled my time management well
I would’ve preferred it if I had more time to make my sketchbook more presentable
and clearer instead it is more rushed.
I think that I am
satisfied with my sketchbook overall there are a few things I would like to do
better like have better presented annotations on my work and I believe I could’ve
not rushed things as much as I have but overall I am happy with what I have
accomplished including the Marilyn Monroe picture that I drew I am very happy
with that.
